New Skills Research in PLOS ONE

Excited to share our freshly published paper “Skill-driven recommendations for job transition pathways” in the Public Library of Science (PLOS ONE). My co-authors, Mary-Anne Williams and Marian-Andrei Rizoiu, and I used skills data from over 8 million Australian job ads and other labour market data to build a “Job Transitions Recommender System”.

The paper also includes a leading indicator of Artificial Intelligence technology adoption using skills data.

For a non-technical summary of the research, check out our article on The Conversation: “How AI can help choose your next career and stay ahead of automation“.
